Located on the eastern tip of Ganh Dau, the temple is dedicated to Nguyen Trung Truc, a leader of the 1860s Anti-French Colonist movements.

The Temple is located around a 30 minute walk or 10 minute cycle from Peppercorn Beach, through the nearby local village.

Nguyen Trung Truc led the raid that resulted in the burning of the French warship L'Esperance and despite repeated attempts to capture him, Nguyen Trung Truc continued to fight until 1868 when he was captured on Phu Quoc island and eventually executed. The temple is devoted to honour him in Ganh Dau Village. Every August, a festival is held here to celebrate his insurrection against the French with free food provided and various local stores selling souvenirs.

The islands pepper plantations are mostly located around the central and northern parts of the island and most farmers won’t mind you stopping to take photo’s of the pepper trees or the drying pepper. 

Vietnam is the leading global exporter of Black peppercorns with the best quality black pepper in Vietnam coming from Phu Quoc with big solid corns. Phu Quoc currently produces more than 1000 tons of pepper every year, with the main harvesting season running from February through to July, however you can visit the farms all year round.

Phu Quoc pepper is famous for its heat, pungency and strong aroma, especially the red pepper. In Phu Quoc, farmers do not use chemical fertilizers but organic fertilizers and dry peppers under the sunlight instead of by machine as in other regions. There is approximately 385 ha of pepper plantations on Phu Quoc Island. Ripe peppercorns are collected by hand and divided into 3 kinds: black pepper, white pepper, and red pepper.

Peppercorn Beach has some peppercorn vines that can be found on our property, otherwise our closest Peppercorn Farms are around 15 minutes by taxi from Peppercorn Beach where guests can views the plantations and int he right season see the drying peppercorns as well as purchase pepper or fresh peppercorns.

Phu Quoc Bee Farm is the first ecological bee farm on Phu Quoc island, working to build a sightseeing experience specialising in honeybees and nature.

A great place to visit for children or adults, the bee farm holds informative walking tours showing the many tropical fruit trees that can be found on Phu Quoc island as well as seeing the bee hives with a chance to try various drinks flavoured with raw honey after the tour.

Phu Quoc Bee Farm encourages environmentally friendly practices and visitors will experience the bee farms passion for a clean, ecological and 100% organic, friendly natural habitat for the honey bee, which creates long-term benefits for the environment and bee pollination.

The Bee Farm is located around 20 minutes by taxi from Peppercorn Beach. Open daily from 9AM to 5PM.

Phu Quoc Islands first 18 hole golf course is located less than 10 minutes from Peppercorn Beach, with well manicured long driving fairways and water hazards in a tropical setting. 

There's also a driving range with 3 different distanced greens to aim for to help improve your game.

The course offers discounted green fees in the late afternoons and on Fridays. Carts, Caddies, Shoes and Clubs can all be rented at the clubhouse.

There is a good walking trail 4km before the village of Ganh Dau along the national park dirt road and around 6km from Peppercorn Beach, where walking is relatively easy and trail is wide enough to take in the surrounding environment.  The walk is a particularly pleasant way to escape the heat, as the vegetation provides cover from the sun. We recommend visiting the Forest Walk during the dry season, as the track does get difficult in the wet season.

Vietnam and one of South East Asia’s largest Wildlife Conservation Park and Safari is located about a 12 minutes drive from Peppercorn Beach. Boasting to be Vietnam’s largest zoological park, home to 400 species of plants, and over 2000 wild animals representing 130 different species, many of which are considered rare. 

In addition to viewing the animals in their recently built modern facilities, the zoo hosts a number of different animal shows daily and the 20 minute safari tour allows visitors to views numerous animals roaming relatively free in the safari section of the park.

Vinpearl Land Amusement Park Phu Quoc is an Entertainment Hub that contains several sections, including an outdoor water park, outdoor and indoor arcade centres, an aquarium, and shopping street. 

Vinpearl Land is only a short 10 minute taxi drive from Peppercorn Beach.
